MiloAI shortlisted for BETT Asia AI product of the year

We’re excited to share that MiloAI has been shortlisted for AI product of the year at BETT Asia 2025. This recognition celebrates how far MiloAI has come in supporting teachers and students with safe, meaningful learning experiences.

A journey of growth for MiloAI

When we first introduced MiloAI, we wrote about our equitable approach to incorporating AI. From the beginning, our focus was on ensuring that Milo could serve as more than just a quick answer tool. We wanted Milo to be a true learning partner, encouraging curiosity, guiding students step by step, and making sure support was accessible to every learner.

Since that first release, MiloAI has continued to evolve. Earlier this year, we shared how Milo had become smarter and safer, with new safety guardrails and more intelligent feedback. We’ve also added support for translation and read-aloud features, ensuring that learners can engage with Milo in the way that best suits their needs. Each of these changes was informed by teacher input and classroom experience.

What the recognition means

Being shortlisted for BETT Asia’s AI product of the year reflects the impact MiloAI is already having in schools around the world. Since the beginning of this journey, teachers have told us that MiloAI helps students:

"The possibilities of AI inside the classroom are really exciting, and students are loving Milo, the Mathspace AI. The feature allows students to ask more specific questions to clarify understanding, rather than only receiving generic hints. It also allows less confident students to check their answer with no stakes before entering it, which has resulted in these students completing more questions and gaining better understanding of concepts. We can't wait to see how this feature continues to develop over time." Amanda Bilney, Senior Teacher – Mathematics

But this nomination recognises the growth of MiloAI and its ability to continually help students:

  • get timely support when they need it
  • ask more questions and explore new ideas
  • develop independence and ownership in their learning

At Mathspace, we believe that every student can succeed in mathematics with the right help at the right time. MiloAI reflects this mission by ensuring that every learner has access to support when they need it most, while giving teachers confidence that no student is left behind.

For us, this nomination isn’t just about the technology, it’s about showing how AI can be designed in a way that empowers both teachers and learners.

Our vision for MiloAI

We’ve always seen MiloAI as a support for teachers, not a replacement. Teachers play an irreplaceable role in inspiring, guiding and connecting with their students, and we believe that AI should strengthen that role, not compete with it.

Our vision is for MiloAI to help teachers know that every child in their class is supported. Whether it’s a student who doesn’t ask many questions, one who struggles with maths concepts and needs extra practice, or a student ready to be stretched with deeper challenges, Milo can provide timely support and encouragement.

By handling some of the immediate, low-stakes questions, MiloAI gives time back to teachers, allowing them to focus on where their expertise and personal connection make the biggest difference. Because we know the power that great teachers bring to a classroom, and we want MiloAI to make that impact even stronger.

Explore MiloAI further

If you’d like to see what Milo can do for your classroom, we invite you to explore MiloAI for yourself. There you can learn more about how Milo works, the safety features we’ve built in, and the role Milo can play in supporting student learning.

What’s next

We’ll be joining the conversation at BETT Asia later this year to connect with educators, policymakers and ed-tech leaders from across the region. This is an opportunity to share what MiloAI can do today, and to listen closely to how we can make it even better.

Looking ahead, we’ll continue to give teachers more visibility into how their students are using Milo, so they can see learning progress and areas where support is needed. And we’ll keep building on our commitment to make MiloAI continually safer and smarter, so every classroom can use it with confidence.

Our goal remains the same: to make MiloAI an ever more effective partner in teaching and learning, one that supports every student while giving teachers more time to focus on what matters most, their connection with learners.
